There's a renaissance going on with supers RPGs right now - and it's not really reflected in mainstream RPG awards as those tend to be focused elsewhere.

So – the BAMFSIES aim to highlight the best in Supers RPGs. We're about celebrating and drawing attention to all the great Supers RPGs that have been released recently
We've assembled a crack team of judges from the tabletop rpg scene and we’ll be announcing the awards in a show on the BAMF Podcast in January
But we don’t want to leave out the most important judge: you.

My only nitpick is you left out both Invulnerable (http://www.rpgnow.com/product/128436/Invulnerable-Super-Hero-RPG-Vigilante-Edition) and Amazing Pulp Adventures (http://www.rpgnow.com/product/121546/Davey-Beauchamps-Amazing-Pulp-AdventuresRole-Playing-Game?term=Amazing+Pulp+Adventures), both of which are fairly new compared to some on the list that have been out awhile

ReplyDeleteWithout "Villains & Vigilantes", this list holds little true meaning. V&V was the first real super-hero RPG. At 47 pages total, it is rules light (though it still finds room for a bit of 80's rpg math), has excellent character creation and game-play mechanics, and is still better than most newer offerings. It was, and is, a solid game that allows for anything a GM, player, or Comic freak can come up with.
